10 Brain Exercises to sharpen your Mind

This finger exercise was developed by Yoshiro Tsutsumi is a Japanese researcher and author of the book "Finger Self Massage".


This book focuses on improving brain health and makes it sharp like a pencil.

If this finger exercise is carried out daily then the stimulation traveling from the finger to the brain will help your body rejuvenates and improves brain function.

Each Fingertip has more than 3000 mechanoreceptors that act as a roadway to your brain particularly its sensory cortex.

When you do a finger work out, you improve synapse connections.


Synapse1is the middle part between presynaptic neurons and postsynaptic neurons.

This helps for serotonins to pass from pre to postsynaptic neurons so your brain starts feeling happy and in a good mood.

This also helps to prevent depression as the serotonin is fired more from neurons.

So there is no need for intake of Antidepression drugs like SSIR2.


This phenomenon helps to increase brain function and avoids all types of psychological problems.

But with the finger exercises, this also needs some warm-up exercises.

Don’t worry this article won’t ask you to do anything that lasts for more than 1 hour.

Inhale deeply through your nose and raise your elbow making a form of "Namaste".

Raise your fingers in front of your face joining both hands, fingers should touch each other.

Eye-level and the fingers should match the 180 line & both the Palms should be facing each other.

Now breathe out through your mouth.


Lower your Right hands a bit at the same time bends the fingers of your left hand and uses them to cover the fingertips of the right hand.

It looks like you are trying to catch your right hand that falling down through your left hand.

Breathe through your nose and make left-hand fingers straight and cover them with right-hand fingers.

While doing this exercise, do not let your hands come down as you may forget.


Repeat this exercise for 15 minutes and your breathing should be a little faster than usual.

Do not hurry to do this exercise and do it smoothly.


(Always start any exercise with 2 minutes so you continue and make it a habit)



Brain Exercise No # 2

Takes your Hands in front of your chest and your palms and wrist should be touching each other.

Make a "namaste" pose in front of your chest and feel comfortable without any strain.

Breathe in and out several times as you do it usually as this will allow you to concentrate on the upcoming exercises.

Now separate your palm from each other in such a way, only the fingertips should be touching each other. - Breath out.


Inhale and again close your palms with each other. Repeat this procedure 10 times and breathing should be along with it.


Expand your palms and fingers as stretchable as possible.


Brain Exercise No # 3

Breathe in and out as you do in your everyday life. Bend the Elbows and lift your arm with palm and fingers facing your face. Pinky fingers should be touching each other.


Do not breathe for a couple of seconds. Inhale and bend your fingers one by one starting from the left-hand thumb and ending with the right-hand pinky finger.


Exhale through your mouth after all the fingers have a bend. Inhale and again unbend your fingers starting from your left-hand thumb and end at the right-hand pinky finger.


Do it alternate vice versa start and end from both directions. Repeat these moments 10 times and make sure you bend and stretch your finger with the largest pull. 


Brain Exercise No # 4

This exercise needs 4 walnuts, so if you don't have it then go get it first. You can replace walnuts with any other such a big nut that can replace them and help you out.


Take walnut on your left-hand palm and start rolling it with the right hand. Try to press with your right-hand while rolling, it should feel a little effect.


Try doing this exercise for at least 1 minute. Turn your left hand and now roll the nut on the back of your left hand and repeat this for another 1 minute.


Repeat the same procedure done on the left hand to the right hand for the same duration. Take 2 walnuts in each hand i.e. right and left hand and start it rotating on both the palms.


On the right hand rotate the walnut in a clockwise direction and on the left hand rotate the walnut anticlockwiseDo this exercise for another minute.


These exercises calm down nervous tensions and reduce stress & anxiety. With a rise in age your memory, thinking, and concentration decrease with time. These rotating walnuts on hand help to maintain the brain with age. 


Brain Exercise No # 5

For Right & Left hand: -


Touch fingertips of your thumb and index finger.

Touch fingertips of your thumb and middle finger.

Touch fingertips of your thumb and ring finger.

Touch fingertips of your thumb and pinky finger.


Repeat this procedure 20 times for each hand.

Take the right hand and bend the index finger with the thumb & other fingers should stand straight. Take a thumb and bend the middle finger, & other fingers should stand straight.


Repeat the same for the ring and pinky finger. When completed with the right hand do this with the left hand for 20 times each.



Brain Exercise No # 7

This exercise will give a pace to your attention and concentration. Hold left hand in a loose fist. Fingers on the right hand should gather straight perpendicular to the left hand.


Bring the fingers on the bottom of the right-hand pinky finger. Switch your hands and do it with the right hand.


The right hand should be in a fist and left-hand fingers should be perpendicular to the bottom part of the left-hand pinky finger.


Make this procedure as fast as possible with 10 times for each hand and breath our air while switching hands. 


As our brain is directly connected with hands and all of us have one hand that we feel is strong.


The part of the brain connected with this strong hand is more developed than the other hand.


Right-handed people have well developed left parts of the brain and vice versa.

Brain Exercise no #8


Try daily with doing the following tasks with no powerful hand.

Open and close palm & fingers of both the hand for a couple of times.

Try opening the doors.

Brushing your teeth.

Try writing articles.


This connects the new hemisphere of two different parts of the brain.


Start writing by hand more as it provides brain stimulation and improves neural plasticity.
